The Breast Screening Programme

 

All eligible women age 50 – 70 registered with this practice will shortly be invited for breast screening (mammogram). You will receive your appointment letter through the post inviting you to a mobile unit situated in the grounds of, Tesco Car Park, Silverburn.

 

If the appointment is unsuitable, please call the centre to rearrange it.

 

 

Women 71 and over can request an appointment by contacting the Breast Screening Centre:

Breast screening every 3 years is the best way to detect breast cancer early when treatment is most likely to be effective.

FACE TO FACE AT PRACTICE ONLY

 

PLEASE CALL AT RECEPTION TO REGISTER WITH THE PRACTICE.

 

In order to register with the practice you should present in person to the reception desk with  proof of address. You will be given a registration form to complete. If you need an appointment with the GP this can be made by receptionist. At the time of registration you will be asked to make an  appointment with the practice nurse within the following 3 month for a ‘new patient check’. At this appointment the nurse will ask details of your past medical history and take your blood pressure. General lifestyle advice will be offered.
